Help is civilization decomposing,society unravelling? r we left behind? nihilism? using as example TV's/ANTM?

Taking my example directly from popular culture, a repeat from Amer. Next Top Model, representative of what "we" are now about- not to be preachy,but The Greeks had Sophocles,Aristophanes & the quest for knowledge, then was Mozart, Shakespeare, Rembrandt, Tolstoy, The Renaissance, speed to 50's had great new authors Ginsburg,Keroak, new ideas/films and MORE. But recently,ugh- using modern times signature music which lacks real instruments, film that is predominately video game-esque/violent or goofy. TV-? Either low brow/shallow/creepy.Will the "reality" show be our contribution in the history books (our "Hamlet"our "Citizen Cane"?) Am I alone here people? ex:as I lay here with the flu- I finally see A.N.T.M, (a repeat) only to see contestant Jael pushed into a pool by 50 cent! So can I push the MANY ppl. who annoy me into a pool?or is that ault? yet ppl. approve of it. many posts of "she deserved it"! what? just don't get it? What is next? Live slaughter?
