Who knows how to convert WMA files into MP3s or WAV format so I can edit them?

I am a somewhat experienced computer user and I have a new Vista computer. I am fairly knowledgeable on using this and other computers, but I can't figure out how to convert WMA files into WAV or MP3 so I can edit them. Any help on this topic of converting files would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
